Puma is giving its classic shoes a big ol’ system update, rebooting its Running System (RS) collection.
The RS kicks were kings of the street in 1986, revered as the holy grail of comfort for serious runners. Zipping around town became a breeze with the shoes’ state-of-the-art cushion technology, leather uppers and padded collars.
Puma’s 2018 edition is a spruced up version called the RS-0. The fresh new silhouette comes with a shock-absorbing midsole with a lighter PU foam to cushion all dancefloor and skateboard antics. A stretchy neoprene bootie is fashioned into the topline to provide the comfort of a sock.
The fresh kicks are a result of Puma’s investment into three creative pillars of popular culture for inspiration: Gaming, Music and Photography.
Cue the RS-0 PLAY pack, playful details recalling the heydays of Super Mario and Pac-Man. The line pays homage to the era it was launched, the classic reimagined with the pop colour palette of 1980s video games.
Red and yellow padded inserts are inspired by game console buttons are featured on the midsole, while the outsole has modern colour-blocking designs.
Retailing at SGD199, the RS-0 PLAY will be available at Bugis+, Paragon, Select MBS Store, Suntec City, Vivo as well as authorised retailers at AWLAB, Dots, Feder Sports, Metro, Phantaci, Robinsons, SEEK, Sole Central, Star 360 and The Social Foot from June 2.
